This camp was the best camp ever. I will remember it forever. The indonesians were very nice and friendly.
Venue: JALAN BAHTERA CAMPSITE
DAY 1: The sporeans had to come earlier on that day. Report at the multi purpose hall and we had to fill up some survey. basically there were 5 different schools from different parts of spore. bedok green, siglap, yuying, zhenghua and woodgrove. soon after, we were allocated to different groups. im in group 2, along with rohaizad and koko. we had icebreaker games and came up with a cheer. We named our group POWER! Our trademark was the handsign for 'WTF' but the opposite way. Haha. Group 1 was our mirror group(Mohawk).
Ate lunch at 12plus. Grp 1 and 2 had to do duties. Grp 1, serve the food while grp 2 handle the rubbish -.-" After lunch, we had a friendship dance and it was very fun! after all the fun, we had to turn our attention to a more serious matter. We combined with grp 1 to discuss abt our campfire item. But a few minutes later, we were called back because the indonesians had came. There were 8 locals and 8 indons in my group. They had their late lunch and then we had the opening ceremony. Icebreaker with the indons and off to orchard road to do some SHOPPING till 9plus :D Cool eyy ? Heh. Returned to campsite and had our bath. First night, i cant sleep cause it was freezing cold and i heard weird noises. Eeee, scary...
DAY 2: KAYAKING was ultimately fun! We had briefing before testing out the new life jackets. We were told to soak ourselves in the water and the water was really cold! Afterwhich, we must find a partner to kayak so i partnered with Koko. We have to carry the kayak over to the water ourselves and it weigh tons! Once instructions were told, we got onto the kayak and paddled towards the kalong. While paddling, shahirah specs sank downnnn the sea! ):
After kayaking, went to bathe and had lunch. Right after lunch, it rained heavily therefore, the activities were brought later. Since we had spare time, my grp and grp 1 practised on our cheers. OHOH! We called ourselves POWERHAWK (: When the rain stopped, we went to this jungle-like place and walked all the way into the jungle just to play with MUD! It was fun but there were countless of tadpoles and all of us were black! So, we called ourselves the black parade while walking back to the campsite. Once reached, we rinsed ourselves and bathed again. After cleansing, we had our dinner, cheering sessions and then played kidnapped. I was the one being kidnapped! And my grp members have to find me(: We're the first group to complete! In other words, WE WON ! POWER! However, instructor ZHAI wasn't happy with our group fighting. He talked to us regarding the use of vulgarities that my group members used while playing kidnapped. Haizz....
DAY 3: THE AMAZING RACE! In the morning, had breakfast and the instructors briefed us about the amazing race. Board on the bus and headed to sago rd. Once alighted, we gathered around and took a group photo first before separating. Instructor ZHAI guided us along well. We went to many scenary places. We had lunch at Clarke Quay at an indian muslim food shop. It was such a filling lunch. Walked to 7-11 and instructor ZHAI asked me to buy 3 big gulp while he go and get the sentosa tram ticket. On the way to esplanade, met instructor PILLAY's grp there. and since we wanted to go to peninsular, instructor PILLAY's group followed us. We only had a few minutes to shop cause we were running late. We took the mrt and headed to Harbourfront. Once arrived at vivo, all of the groups settled down and played games. After all the instructors and chief had discussed, we took the tram and off to sentosa. At sentosa, different groups get to do different things. Group 1 had gotten the chance to play the luge whereas my group played the concentration game. Soooo not fair! When the clock striked six, we had our dinner. After dinner, had cheering sessions while waiting for the 8.40pm 'Songs of the sea' show to start. The show was splendid!! I enjoyed myself.
DAY 4 : HIGH ELEMENTS ! Luckily, rain didnt pour. group 1 and 2 did the first half of the activities. Basically, the first half, there were 3 stations but most did only 1 station due to the shortage of time. After an hour doing the stations, we went to zip-line and abseiling. First priority were the indonesians. My group did zip-line first and it was my first time zip-lining. After all the indonesians had their turn. It was the locals turn and i was the first local to zip-line. After everyone had their chance, we went abseiling next. I did abseiling first. While waiting for the rest to finish abseiling, some of my members played 'chuckychucky' game. insructor ROGER joined in too(: A few minutes later, we had to assemble in the canteen for lunch. We had mass cleaning after that.
Soon after, CHIEF EUNICE told us last minute that we have to practice our performance for the campfire and that practice will be our last. We're then to proceed to multi purpose hall for the briefing of multi-captains ball match! Odd number grps had to follow CHIEF EUNICE whereas the even number grps had to follow CHIEF JEREMY. Multi-captains ball is the same as normal captains ball game its just that players will be playing in the center of a circle while the sides are filled with different groups goalkeepers. In this game, you have to compete with 6 other groups. CHIEF JEREMY will throw in different size of balls after each game. The smaller the ball is, the more points you earn. For the last game, the ball is no longer a ball, but it's a raw chicken. interesting huh? There were indeed very funny moments. However, one of my group members was injured and it made Koko mad. The other groups played rough with us but insructor ZHAI kept telling us to play with integrity and we did. After the match, there's some time left before dinner and campfire. Without hesitation, we practiced our item and everyone was happy with it. assembled at multi purpose hall, got our camp shirts and ate dinner. After dinner, campfire!!! The best campfire ever! We're dancing disco baybeh. All the campfire item was awesome. Good job to all (: The instructors had made up a dance for us. I looked at instrutor ZHAI and he's soooooo, omg, cute!
DAY 5 : Had breakfast, then clean up the campsite. closing ceremony, played games for the last time together, had briefing abt where you can get the photos from. and lastly GOODBYE TO THE INDONESIANS. OHHHHH IT WASSSS SADDDDDD! i wanted to cry but i couldnt let it out. we started to hug each other and pay our last regards. the bus arrived and they had to go. people were crying real bad and i just stood there just waving at them. however, it was a memory i will never forget for the rest of my life. after they left, grp1,2 and 3 had to clean up the toilets. had fun cleaning up actually. instructor ROGER soo evil, he sprayed us all with water. (= after that, do the friendship dance. busses arrived one by one and all went back to their respective school.
